Established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1947, the EDWIN brand is known for its authenticity, innovation, and craftsmanship. Founder Tsunemi Yonehachi was amongst the first merchants to bring vintage American jeans to Japan in the postwar era, setting off a national obsession with denim.
Mr. Tsunemi was driven to create his own denim, with greater sophistication in fits, washes, and quality.
From this point on in Edwin's denim history, quality, craftsmanship, innovation, and integrity have been paramount to the ethos and aesthetic of the brand. Utilizing the letters D, E, N, I & M (reversing the M creating a W) he created the brand name ‘Edwin’.
Edwin is an authentic denim brand priding itself on innovation and craftsmanship, utilizing exclusive fabrics and fabrication, unique technology, hand wash processes, and continual progression in design and fit.
